Shitty Internet

Once upon a time I had great internet. At this point, that seems like decades ago. I've been playing this game since November 2005. I had great internet up until I moved into a new apartment complex in O'Fallon, Missouri. Since that day back in August of 2007, I have been dealing with terrible latency and disrupting raids/causing wipes due to this stupid crap. It's odd, because around that time period I really began to raid on a semi-hardcore level. I've never been able to play to my full potential. In fact, I love PvPing, but with 500+ latency at all times, it's damn near impossible.

Now, being on the verge of moving again I am hoping this new 16meg internet will relieve any net issues and we can make a strong push at clearing Ulduar. Being one of the main tanks now and always worried about d/c'ing has been a huge stress. I never do runs anymore unless it's 2am because I don't like being the cause of problems in any runs I do. As a whole, having a decent ping will make my playtime a lot more enjoyable and I look forward to it.

So that's my rant. 9 days until I am officially an Arizona resident. All hints of internet have been great based on the conversations with neighbors, etc. Bring on Ulduar.

I can attest to the stress this causes. I used to play WC3 ladder matches quite often. I had over 1800 games on my account in fact, all random except one =O. Losing a game due to DC is frustrating, especially if it turns a win into a loss.

In your defense, I can see where you're coming from.

Yeah man, I know how you feel. I had T1 quality back at my house in CT. When I moved out here to CA, I pay for the highest speed which is 3megs and average about 1k. I've had nights where it's gone below Dial-Up. And the ISP just doesn't give a shit. I'm moving in a couple months probably back to CT. I don't know where I'll be staying though. And then I'm moving to Georgia, and actually getting a house, it will be nice to not be forced to pay for a monopolized connection.

I know what you mean....

When I was living in rez at University I got kicked out of LoH because my connection was so bad! Yay for living at home with a good connection.
